Garrison Crossing Update

The south Stainless Steel bridge has been successfully erected at Garrison Common over this past weekend. This is the second and final structure of the Garrison Crossing. Both duplex stainless steel bridges have been successfully lifted into position over the railway corridors. The north bridge was erected on July 28th, 2018 and the south bridge has been erected during this past weekend, in the morning of October 13th, 2018”.

Once completed, both bridges will create a new connection linking the parks system from Trinity Bellwoods Park in the north to the Fort York grounds in the south. The north bridge structure is 52 m in length and spans from the South Stanley Park extension over the Kitchener rail corridor and lands on the north side of the Ordnance Triangle. The 49 m long South Bridge structure spans from the south side of the Ordnance Triangle over the Lakeshore West rail corridor and will land in Garrison Common on the Fort York grounds.
