The construction of the Kutuctay Bridge in Peru is already over 75% complete and will be finished in a few months. Pedelta supported Minera Las Bambasthroughout the conceptual and detailed design phases and oversaw the construction, including a challenging geometric control. Due to the complex topography and alignment, Pedelta designed a unique 180 m-long cast-in-place segmental bridge with two balanced cantilevers advancing from the pier while the remaining portion of the main span cantilevered from the abutment.
The bridge will connect the regions of Cusco and Apurimac, promoting the local development of communities, benefiting over 50,000 inhabitants in Cotabambas and Anta provinces, and marking a significant milestone for the region.
