We are proud to announce that we have recently signed the Seconding Entity agreement with the Politechnical University of Catalonia, UPC, to the placement of Dr. Itsaso Arrayago Luquin with Pedelta within the framework of the H2020– Global Fellowship’ Marie Skłodowska-Curie. This research project is called New Generation Design Methods for Stainless Steel Structures, NewGeneSS, The project will develop the bases for the system-based New Generation Design Methods for stainless steel structures. Pedelta’s Secondment will provide the most adequate framework and design examples in stainless steel bridges for the development of the pioneering Direct Design Method, DDM, for stainless steel structures and the corresponding design recommendations for their inclusion in the Next Generation European Standards. The aim of the project is to provide a system-based approach for the structural analysis which can help to more accurately predict the behavior and failure of structures. We strongly believe that this research is in line with the society’s growing demand for a resilient and sustainable infrastructures and cities. The project includes a training in structural reliability during a short stay of the researcher in the Newcastle University, in Australia.
