The Garrison Crossing pedestrian and cycling bridge has officially opened

Mayor John Tory and city Couns. Mike Layton and Joe Cressy were at a ceremony on Tuesday morning to officially open the two-section stainless steel bridge, which crosses two sets of railway tracks, to the public.

"I'm proud to officially open this important piece of active transportation infrastructure that will connect key downtown communities," said Tory during this morning's ribbon cutting ceremony.

"This stainless steel bridge project — the first of its kind in Canada — shows the progress our City is making when we work together with CreateTO and the private sector to get things done for our residents." Tory continued.

"The design of the bridge is in of itself remarkable."
